#ScotClimateWeek and The Zen Agency

This week we help raise awareness of #ScotClimateWeek. Scotland’s Climate Week is an annual event to raise awareness of the global climate emergency. Our team here at The Zen Agency feel very strongly about this and it’s often a topic of conversation at our Zen HQ so it only made sense.

We want to be part to normalising the conversation about climate change and encourage our clients to talk more about its impact and how we as individuals, marketers and as an agency are playing a part in tackling it.

Around 23% of greenhouse gas emissions in Scotland come from our homes and workplaces and it got us thinking, when do websites ever turn off? Hosting a reliable website requires a running server with no down time / switch off at any point of the year. As a team, we’re responsible for developing a business model which is designed for sustainable strategies for both ours and our clients social and marketing strategy. We are responsible for building a number of e-commerce websites In which provide sales 365 days, with that comes global shipment etc so it really is up to us to really understand and help influence a transition to creating a more sustainable world. Our aim and promise to #ScotClimateWeek is to help find ways to help our clients connect sustainability to their product sales.

As consumers, we all use the digital space in someway or another, browsing well know shopping sites or buying items online isn’t unknown to us now. Did you know that a website with 100,000 page views per month emits twice the amount of carbon dioxide per yer as a Toyota Yaris?!

We’ve drawn up some really interesting stats, take a minute to look at them below – we're sure you’ll be surprised at some of them!
