Chivas Brothers Scotchnet

A global asset management system built on Umbraco.

Chivas Brothers is the Scotch whisky and premium gin business of Pernod Ricard, the world’s co-leader in wine and spirits.

The Project

Chivas required a platform that that was not front public facing and allowed worldwide integration with all their global marketing suppliers. The platform had to have a number of different functions allowing access to all assets and information about each of the premium and super premium brands within the group. The system had to also have access to procurement intranet and push information on global content to Chivas Bros own web platform.

It was required to have the functionality for design, advertising, digital and PR agencies to download with limited access assets that they required on a brand by brand basis.

Zen developed on the Umbraco platform an Asset management system with a Shopping cart capability. Allowing moderated access to Pernod Ricard’s Global advertising agency roster. The information would take up 1.5tb of space and allowed agencies to upload and download all the branding assets for each individual brand.

The system also had use a shopping cart to allow quantities of assets to be downloaded, push global content and news not only to the one system but to the Chivas Bros site using a global content push.

The Results

The system worked for the best part of 7 years successfully on a global scale allowing the assets of all Pernod Ricard brands to be distributed worldwide to marketing companies from Japan to Mexico.

The system was also used as a PR tool to duplicate internal information that required to be pushed to external sources.
